Claës Giertta (1926-2007) was an influential silversmith, sculptor and designer in Sweden highly regarded for his experimentation with precious metals. He trained at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, establishing his own workshop in 1957. Giertta’s work is noted for its highly sculptural and textural relief, often employing varying constructions of geometric forms. His work is featured in museums around the world.
